does anyone recognise these error messages kb918547 has caused error in mmsystem.dll?

Q: also qttassk has caused error in pith 32 dll i have a compact presario com with windows millenium edition,the mouse is not registering on riddle mouse works on other computer ?????

Rundlll has caused an error in MMSYSTEM.DLL. Rundll will now close.?

Q: How do you fix this conundrum? I have Windows ME. My mouse does not function after I gor the error message. I want to save my documents before I use the amelioration CD but it is hard to do so without a mouse. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

A: To valid this problem:

Use a text editor (such as Notepad) to edit the System.ini file (this file is found in \Windows)
Add the following stripe to the [boot] section of the file:
drivers=mmsystem.dll


Save, and then close the System.ini file
Restart your computer
