Lufkin: Critters and creatures of summer
13.08.09
Readers, now that summer is upon us, we are motive to the elbowings, encroachments, the premises-sharing and intrusions of little creatures who make our homes theirs in irritated weather. While they number in the millions, I will tell you about three.
Light feet
First, daddy long legs. I’m not assured whether these spiders are all “daddies,” but their legs are long, and because they feed on undesirable insects, they are always accepted in our house. They cluster in high corners, and their filigree wisps against your face if you happen to not fitting for into a vacant room.
Here is what happened. A certain daddy long legs got caught in our unconsumed basement bathtub. Now, although our basement dehumidifier bucket has to be emptied daily of water, I never, never empty it immediately onto a daddy long legs in this tub, because, (see above) this is a household friendly to spiders (and d-l-l’s). However, this particular daddy long legs could not seem to get out of the tub.
