need help fixing 'missing shell32.dll' error in vista?

Q: I recently added a new thread to my Vista, then restarted it. I now cant get Vista to load past the login screen and I get a message saying that I call for shell32.dll. I replaced the original with the one from the theme.

What can I do that won't result in all of my data being erased?

Q: Plz. touch on me someone knows how to fix a dll problem. The error mess. says " error loading C:windows/system32/shell32.dll" I did all the scans and tried reloading windows and I still get the same old intrude in. If u could step by step plz.
