Computer won't start up! Error: Bad image checksum error (shdocvw.dll) - how to fix?

Q: I get a dejected screen of death before starting my computer that says stop: c0000221 {bad image checksum}
The impression shdocvw.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum.
Does anyone comprehend how to quickly (and easily) fix this?

explorer.exe - bad image, SHDOCVW.dll error?
Jun 08, 2009 by Mariobro1 | Posted in Programming & Design
Q: Hello, I have a Dell Laptop game Vista Basic... but everytime i turn it on after i enter my password it gives me the following error:
Explorer.exe - bad model
C:windows\system32\shdocvw.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.
I've tried starting up in safe mode and also booting up from set right disk. I've also tried to restore to an earlier time and chkdsk /f to see if it repaired it.
Any suggestions??
again, it goes up to the part when i can document the password to log on, but then it just wont respond.
I got myself a registry cleaner... but the problem now is that it won't even let me boot up altogether... not even in safe mode. So, how do i run the registry cleaner?
A: Try booting of a Windows establish disk... From there you can run a repair of windows, if not your only option might be to reinstall windows vista.... I exhort to try Windows 7 Beta, its much better, faster, and free for almost a year....
