A: To answer this error, uninstall Winamp. You do not need to reboot before proceeding. Reinstall Winamp, but make sure-fire to uncheck the "Audio File Support --> Sonic Ripping/Passionate support" option on the "Choose Components" panel of Winamp Setup. You indubitably will not need to reboot again, and Winamp should now start up without the error message

Problem launching Yahoo Music Jukebox: PX.dll not found.?

Q: At best signed up for Y! Music Unlimited and am trying to install music Jukebox to access it. Am direction on Vista 64 Ultimate (2G Ram), AMD 4200 dual core.
The full text of the error is:
The application has failed to start because PX.dll was not found. Re-installing the pertinence may fix this problem.
Have tried re-install several times (including logged in as administrator). Anyone have any stance what is going on and how to fix it? I can't find PX.dll anywhere on my computer and an internet search is inconclusive.

I checked the URL and downloaded the DLL suggested there, but it did not m for me. The program did get further along in its startup, but then crashed silently.
However, this URL did get me on the right track to the solution. Apparently, I was missing a whole series of DLLs in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory. As far as I remember they all had file names following the pattern "PX*.DLL".
After more research, I discovered that all of these DLLs move along disintegrate with a program called "WinAMP" (download: http://www.winamp.com). So, I installed WinAMP 5.35, then re-tried installing the Yahoo Music Jukebox and all is working correctly! Kinky that installing a competing product makes the jukebox work.
I decided to post these details in the hopes that if anyone else has this stew on Vista 64 and searches Yahoo answers, that the solution that I found may help them. I had waited 4 days for tech subsistence and still didn't get an answer.
