Q: *SOS* my lap top {an older IBM expect pad} outta the blue lost internet That was last March... So I just recently got a new internet went to use it and I get this Res://c:\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.Htm.. Can I "probably" fix this my self. I am by NO means that compter literate as in all that.Not sure how I can do this and WHAT exactly this system 32 boob means. Can anyone please help me and give me any somewhat simple direction?? peAce~

Is the this clanger happens only with Internet Explorer. Or you are not able to connect to internet at all. If you don't use any other browser, then consider downloading Firefox.
If you are adept to connect to internet through firefox but not through IE, then try following the instructions mentioned here.

Otherwise, try running the program from here

The above mentioned are based on the assumption that you are using windows xp.

A: Click: Start-All Programs-accesories-System tools- return and restore to a date when the computer was okay. You probably visited a phorno site and these automatically reset your homepage. No way to remove them. After resetting i think you should delete file and cookies in your internet tool. Run Yahoo anti spyware, sunny your history. try to recall if you did go to any XXXX sites these usually trap you
