i cannot install WIN XP, SXS.DLL Error ?

Q: I am vexing to upgrade/install Win XP to home PC form win ME, After the second restart , the installation is stopped and gives a communiqu like:
SXS.DLL syntax error in manifest or policy file "D:\I386\asms\1000\MSFT\WINDOWS\GDIPLUS\GDIPLUS.MA N" on filament 4.
I cannot go forward. system is restarting .
I change my RAM and HDD. and also try another installation CD. but I cannot solve the problem
Is any body can help me
A: BUT did you try a new cd reader most windows settle errors are because the reader cant read the disk therefore is an old reader or the disk is bad.

Q: i BOUGHT A DELL POWEREDGE 400SC Hand-me-down. WHEN I TURN THE POWER ON ALL IS SAYS IS ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM. I TRIED INSTALLING WINDOWS XP BUT HALFWAY THROUGH IT GAVE ME THAT ERROR Communiqu.
ANY IDEAS OR SOLUTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
A: Sounds like a bad disc, or one the CD/DVD persistence can't read. If it is a burned copy, some drives balk at them.
