Q:
A: This error occurs because of a known outflow with the reader’s version of Norton AntiVirus. Symantec hasn’t released a fix for this issue and--specified the fact that this version has been out for four years--isn’t likely to release one in the future.
Our first recommendation is for the reader to upgrade to a late-model edition of Norton AntiVirus or some other reputable antivirus utility. We suspect the reader has let his annual update obligation lapse and is therefore using an out-of-date utility. This isn’t prudent computing behavior; any virus, worm, or Trojan horse released since the reader’s most brand-new update can slip past the utility’s monitoring features. Indeed, viruses are known to origin this same type of “R6025” error in other applications, including Windows Explorer, although we don’t think that is the place here. Before installing the new antivirus utility, however, he should uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2002.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library?

Q: Yahoo Messenger-girl....Please some one help me?
I have a problem with my yahoo messenger. I go to yahoo messenger.com and I downloaded my envoy off there. The installation is successful but when i try to open yahoo messenger a window comes up saying...
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
R6025
-disinfected virtual function call
What can I do to fix this problem?
A: Queer! It's an error usually associated with bad programming, but Yahoo's a stable, tested product, so it must be associated with it.
The most evident reason is that you may have been infected with a variant of the Gaobot worm.
First, go here and do an AV scan at *all* of the following:
Panda's Agile Scan
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co...n_principal.htm
eTrust AV web scanner (Computer Associates)
http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/virusscan.aspx
If this doesn't toil:
Do you have Microsoft Money installed? If you do, and you're not using it, try uninstalling it. Microsoft have reported that MS Money causes this kind of error sometimes.
If you don't have MS Loaded installed, and the cleanup didn't work, try the following in sequence:
1. Reboot your machine and see if the error occurs
2. If it does, uninstall and reinstall YM and see if the error occurs
3. If it does, go to your startup program schedule (msconfig) and disable each non-essential program one by one - chances are one of them is conflicting with Yahoo Messenger
Let me recognize if none of these work for you.
