When I try to enable Yahoo Market Tracker I get an error -- "Microsoft VisualC++Runtime Library" How do I cor

A: The relevance is throwing an exception (usually a memory use problem) that it can't gracefully handle. The error dialog is the generic one. You might be skilled to get more information and something more useful (like the dll that is throwing the exception) if there is a "Details" button on the dialog box.

Then do a Yahoo! or Google search on that dll name, "error", and any other ornate information. It is unlikely you are the only one to have had the problem, and it has probably been discussed elsewhere.

But you need more information to go on.

FWIW - I protocol C++ applications.

Q: Been getting this error bulletin for over a week now.. I have tried everything I could possibly try.. restore point.. uninstalling the programs.. then re installing them.. still get the same error communication.. can someone please help me.. I want my messenger back.. :(


A: It looks like your PC may have an infection of some kind-hearted (see reference). Make sure to run a virus scanner and a spyware removal tool of your realm of possibilities. My personal favorites are AVG Anti-Virus and Spybot search & destroy.

Note that these tools don't by definition catch everything - they cover different subsets of the pantheon of malware, so you may have to try several.

If all else fails you have to resort to reimaging Windows.
